Napier is world-renowned as an Art Deco town, rebuilt after an earthquake in 1931. The colors in the bay of sky and water are unearthly.
Going back through Lake Taupo, I found it as blue as can be, in contrast to the pensive mood my first time through.
Huka Falls is famous for something, maybe watersports below the man-made flume used for hydroelectric. But the lighting was dramatic that day! The lovely Tarawere waterfall I found by accident was a masterpiece.
